AD Code Registration Process

Step 1: Obtain AD Code from Bank

  1. Open a current account with an RBI-authorized bank.
  2. Submit a request letter with IEC and supporting documents.
  3. Bank issues a 14-digit AD Code on official letterhead.

Step 2: Register AD Code on ICEGATE Portal

  1. Log in at ICEGATE (icegate.gov.in) using IEC credentials.
  2. Navigate to AD Code Registration under Bank Account Management.
  3. Enter AD Code details exactly as provided by the bank.
  4. Upload all required documents (AD Code letter, PAN, GST, IEC).
  5. Submit the application and verify using OTP.
  6. Customs approval links the AD Code to your IEC for the selected port.

AD Code Registration Certificate

After registration, businesses receive an AD Code Registration Certificate showing:

How to Download & Check Status

  1. Log in to ICEGATE portal.
  2. Navigate to Bank Account Management.
  3. Select your port and AD Code.
  4. Click View/Download Certificate.
  5. Status can be Approved, Pending, or Rejected.
