What is an IJCEPA Certificate?

The IJCEPA Certificate is a Preferential Certificate of Origin (CoO) issued by the DGFT, proving that goods exported from India are manufactured or produced in compliance with the India-Japan trade agreement. Eligibility Criteria

Exported goods must meet one of two conditions:

  1. Completely Obtained/Produced in India or Japan

  • Live animals raised in India/Japan
  • Plants, minerals, or natural resources sourced locally
  • Goods from sea fishing or factory ships of the country
  • Recovered scrap or manufacturing waste suitable for reuse
  1. Partially Produced Goods

  • Minimum 35% value addition in India or Japan
  • Foreign materials must undergo a change in HS code at the 6-digit level

IJCEPA Certificate Application Process

  1. Create DGFT Account: Use a Class III DSC to register on the DGFT portal.
  2. Submit Online Application: Log in, select IJCEPA agreement type, and start a new CoO application.
  3. Fill Application Form: Provide exporter details, HS codes, invoice info, and destination country.
  4. Upload Documents: Submit required scanned documents (invoice, purchase bill, declarations).
  5. Certificate Issuance: DGFT reviews the application and issues the CoO online for download.

Track Status:

  • Log in to DGFT portal → Navigate to ‘Track Application Status’ → Enter application reference number

Download Certificate:

  • Log in → Go to ‘Issued Certificates’ → Select your IJCEPA CoO → Download PDF
